A brick red cotton kurta with a crossover V neck, block printed in natural dyes in two patterns: a large print of square medallions and leafy motifs in black and grey across the bodice and the wide panels, and a small black, grey and ivory lattice on the centre and side panels and the sleeves. A narrow white trim outlines the neckline, the seam under the bust, the seams between the panels and the cuffs, and the three-quarter sleeves end in a band of the larger print. The kurta flares gently in an A-line from under the bust and falls below the knee, with slits at the sides. It slips on and is unlined. It comes with straight cotton pants in the lattice print that end at the ankle; there is no dupatta. The natural dyes may run in the first wash and can mark skin or pale fabrics, and the print varies slightly from piece to piece. Gentle hand wash. For daytime functions, family lunches and small celebrations.
